Meet Anica
I’ve been creating for as long as I can remember. Art class was always my favorite, and as an adult I didn’t hesitate to turn creativity into something tangible. From 2003–2007, I owned Faux Studio 24 in Milford, Ohio, specializing in faux finishes and mural painting ~ layering walls with paint and texture long before I began layering canvas.
In 2004, I moved to Northern Kentucky to raise my family and continued channeling my creativity into new forms. I became part of an artist collective designing botanical miniatures for Applied Imagination ~ a company known for its tiny, handcrafted structures made from natural materials and displayed in botanical gardens, observatories, and museums across the country. At the same time, life with three young daughters inspired a new creative obsession: elaborate, perfectly coordinated hair bows. What started as late nights spent mastering ribbon folds, researching materials, and ensuring each outfit had its match quickly grew into something more. With that momentum, I launched a handmade bow business that evolved into a thriving Etsy shop…once again building something from nothing. Creativity wasn’t seasonal; it adapted to whatever chapter I was in.
In 2009, I made the decision to step into a corporate marketing career. A choice rooted in necessity, stability, and long-term vision for my family. With three young daughters, the need for a consistent income, benefits, and financial security was critical. It wasn’t simply about career growth; it was about creating a dependable foundation. That season required focus, discipline, and a different kind of creativity ~ strategic thinking, leadership, and building programs that delivered measurable results.

What began as a practical decision became a powerful opportunity. I developed professionally, learned to lead, sharpened my voice, and built a successful career in the fast-moving technology industry. I learned how to tell compelling stories, position value, and think long-term…all skills that now inform how I approach my art business. While canvas and texture weren’t my daily tools during those years, creativity never disappeared. It simply evolved into a different form, quietly waiting for the moment when passion and timing could align again.
Now, in 2026, I’m stepping back into that original passion with clarity and intention. Aging gracefully, unapologetically, and watching my daughters become young independent women creating their own journey, has prompted reflection about my next chapter. I’ve returned to canvas with a deeper voice and a stronger point of view.
My work centers on texture and transformation. Some pieces unfold exactly as planned; others take me somewhere unexpected, and I allow that movement to lead. The balance between structure and surrender mirrors my own evolution. This is not a reinvention. It’s a continuation…each chapter building on the last. My goal is to create refined, dimensional work worthy of gallery spaces and meaningful to collectors. Art shaped by experience, resilience, and becoming.
